Westan in with Blue-Wireless
Westan has signed an agreement with Blue-Wireless for access to their SoftBX IP PBX software.

The agreement allows Westan to develop and distribute a VoIP-PBX appliance for its channel.

Kamil Aghtan, executive director at Westan, said the appliance known as the ArmaTEL Business Grade IP-PBX, would fill the increasing requirements of its customers for an IP-PBX solution.

“Many of our partners see the convergence of IT and Telco as a new and exciting place to make margin and add value,” he said.

“Westan has been working for over five years in the enterprise field of VoIP gateways, but now that the technology is cheaper and more accessible, SME and SMB market segments are providing great opportunities,” he said.

Westan’s made a lot of investment in the space of converged communications and we want to transfer that knowledge down the channel in the form of a flexible, easy to install solution packaged as an appliance that is locally developed and supported, said Aghtan.

Based on a mini PC for the smaller configurations and on an Intel Core 2 Duo or Xeon server for the larger systems, the ArmaTEL Business Grade IP-PBX utilizes Intel Netstructure hardware and SoftBX software to provide a PSTN/VoIP solution that can scale from eight ports to over a thousand and provide a flexible range of communication interfaces, including soft-phones for PCs, notebooks and PDAs.

Initially, the product will be available as an off-the-shelf, 8, 16 and 32 port configurations. The appliances will offer as standard VoIP (SIP) trunks over broadband or optional cards for ISDN/PSTN traditional lines providing a comprehensive range of solutions in the 8 to 32-port space.
