Information security vendor Webroot has let go of its Asia Pacific managing director, Crispin Kerr.
David Bennett, Webroot's vice president of worldwide SMB, said: “It was a mutual agreement and I wish him the best in his future endeavours.”
CRN spoke to Kerr, who said the dismissal was “a US Executive call and change is constant in technology businesses”.
"I wish Webroot, and especially the local team, nothing but the best of success going forward,” he said. “I hope the team continue to maintain and build on the goodwill and momentum established in the channel community, over the past couple of years."
Kerr was promoted to the Sydney-based top job in late 2010, having worked for Webroot since 2007 after it acquired his then-employer Email Systems.
Webroot is in process of looking for a new managing director, and hopes to fill the role as soon as possible.
“For Webroot to be successful, we have to win in Australia and New Zealand,” said Bennett. “We have established a physical presence [in Australia], including a sales team, and we're looking to add another distributor.”
According to Bennett, Webroot's SMB and enterprise business markets have seen rapid growth in Australia, and the company will look to further establish its consumer market business.
