Victorian SES taps Perth's Permeance Technologies for website rebuild

Permeance Technologies has won a deal to build a new website and intranet for the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) based on the open source Liferay platform.

VICSES decided to move to the same platform used by the Country Fire Authority (CFA) because of growing collaboration needs between the departments.

Victoria SES, which is the control agency for natural disaster and the state’s largest provider of road crash rescue services, believes this will improve the department's capability to provide up-to-date information to the community, volunteers and staff.

Victoria SES chief executive Stephen Griffin said: "We were looking for a strategic partner with credible Liferay experience who could help us on our digital journey. We found Permeance."

Permeance Technologies director Shayne Tanner said: "Emergency services organisations such as VICSES (and CFA) provide valuable contributions into the heart of many communities. With a focus on prevention, planning for, and responding to a broad range of emergency situations Permeance is very excited to be providing the digital toolset to assist in the protection of communities and their livelihoods."

Permeance is a software consultancy with focus on design and delivery of information systems that also contributes to open source projects hosted by Liferay, Github, SourceForge.net and the Apache Foundation.
