Victorian IT firm Integrators Australia acquired by global system integrator Convergint

Victorian system integrator Integrators Australia has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by US-based global IT firm Convergint, marking its second global acquisition of the year.

The Melbourne-based integrator revealed it had been bought out last month, with its website now redirecting to a notice on Convergint’s website. The global SI said its acquisition of the Port Melbourne business would provide it with “a physical location and a group of experienced colleagues to expand its service in the local market”.

“Acquiring Integrators Australia is another major step in building out our global service platform,” Convergint chief executive Ken Lochiatto said.

“The addition of Integrators Australia greatly expands our presence in the Australian market and strengthens our ability to meet the service needs of our global customers in Australia. We welcome Dean Monaghan and his entire team to the Convergint organisation.”

Integrator’s Australia was founded by Dean Monaghan in 2005 and offers IT consultation, provisioning and installation, monitoring and alarm management as well as software-as-a-service and hosted solutions.

IA held partnerships with Microsoft, HP, network video vendor Axis Communications, Aviat Networks, EMC and Genetec, among others.

The company boasts a number of large Australian customers included the MCG, where the SI completed video surveillance upgrades, network-based security solutions, updating legacy cabling designs; and the Department of Human Services, where it rolled out new surveillance systems and developed a system architecture for central monitoring.

“We are very excited to become a part of Convergint Technologies, in which we have found a like-minded culture of service-first delivery,” Monaghan said.

“It has taken 13 years of dedication from our entire group to reach the strong level of capability and expertise that we offer today, and joining Convergint marks the next step in our evolution.”

Convergint made its first global acquisition of 2018 in May with the purchase of France's Astrec Security .
