The Victorian government has opened expressions of interest for round four of its Skills Solutions Partnerships program, offering grants of up to $500,000 to develop training courses that address critical skills gaps in priority sectors.

The program brings together industry, TAFEs and dual sector universities to co-design applied training in advanced manufacturing and defence, the circular economy, health technologies and medical research, agribusiness and digital technologies.

Among the initiatives to be developed under the latest round is an applied AI and data skills course aimed at advanced manufacturing workers and small businesses across the Greater Geelong region, designed to help them use AI safely and effectively.

Industry and Advanced Manufacturing Minister Melissa Horne said the program had proven effective in delivering specialised, industry-facing training since its launch.

“By bringing industry and training providers together, this program has consistently delivered targeted, hands-on training that businesses and workers need, which is why Labor are continuing to back it through a fourth round," she said.

Since 2023, the program has awarded more than $7 million across 15 projects.

Expressions of interest for round four close Friday 27 November 2026.
