Data management vendor Veritas has appointed George Wong as its channel leader for the Asia-Pacific, permanently filling the vacancy left by Klasie Holtzhausen's exit in July.
"I am pleased to bring George onboard to lead and grow our channel business in the APJ region," said Veritas global head of channel Mark Nutt. "With George’s experience and proven track record, I am confident that he will be able to accelerate our channel strategy to achieve success for our partners."
Nutt had been acting in the Asia-Pacific channel lead since Holtzhausen's departure.
Wong comes from Oracle where he was the Asia-Pacific business development group vice president – the last role of several during a seven-year stay with the software giant.
Prior to that Wong was the ASEAN managing director for BEA Systems, before its acquisition by Oracle.
"Partners are our biggest lever for growth and at Veritas, [and] we are committed to the partner community through empowerment, recognition and reward," said Wong, who will oversee the Australian channel out of his base in Singapore.
Veritas' corporate split from Symantec will complete on 1 January.
