Tim Cook has tantalisingly revealed glimpses of Apple projects during an interview at AllThingsD's D11 conference.
Starting off with iOS 7, Cook confirmed that Sir Jony Ive has been key, confirming rumours of a major UI makeover which we expect to be unveiled at WWDC on June 10th.
Obviously he avoided the question asking if Apple would ever enter the wearable tech market (iWatch anyone?) but covertly added that the area is "ripe for exploration". Whether or not that means there's 101 iWatch protoypes deep within the bowels of Apple HQ remains to be seen, but we can't imagine Apple sitting on its laurels while the likes of fitness bands and Google Glass are already establishing themselves in the wearable tech arena.
Speaking of which, Cook believes that Google Glass is "....probably not a mass market item [and] more likely to appeal to certain markets". Namely ones that don't mind odd stares from strangers we'd imagine.
The most drastic response however was regarding the opening up of Apple to allow users to change core components of iOS like the home screen or keyboard. "I think you will see us open up more in the future. But not to the degree that we put the customer at risk of having a bad experience. But will we open up more? Yes".
Not only that, but the possibility of Apple (yes, Apple) making an app for Android wasn't ruled out either – "If we thought it made sense to do that then we would do it". Yikes.
And lastly, with regards to the whole Apple Maps fiasco, Cook response was surprisingly humble (for Apple at least). "We screwed up... it's greatly improved, but not there yet. We have more to do".
