Telstra, Optus, Dimension Data and Ingram Micro top Cisco global partner awards in Texas

Telstra and Optus have been named by Cisco among its top partners of 2017 at the vendor's global partner summit in Dallas, Texas.

Telstra was named Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) partner of the year for 2017 while Optus’ business division was named Australia and New Zealand partner of the year.

The telcos join four other ANZ Cisco partners to receive awards during the summit.

Telstra also won the architectural excellence: data centre partner of the year award for ANZ, while Dimension Data Australia won architectural excellence: security partner of the year award.

Ingram Micro Australia was named distributor partner of the year for ANZ, Data#3 claimed the lifecycle management partner of the year gong and Dimension Data Australia bagged the marketing innovation partner of the year award.

Finally, Melbourne-based IT Learning Solution was named APJ learning partner of the year.

Wendy Bahr, Cisco global partner organisation senior vice president, said the named partners pushed the envelope to drive value for our customers.

"They continue to demonstrate outstanding leadership and bold innovation to respond to the hyper-changing world," she said.

It was a big night for Dimension Data, the global system integrator, which collected a total of 22 partner awards from Cisco, including the two ANZ awards.

The company had two US awards and two other APJ awards, with the rest coming from Cisco’s Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Russia (EMEAR) and South America (LATAM) theatres.

“We’re extremely proud to again be recognised with multiple awards this year,” Dimension Data group chief executive Jason Goodall said.

“We have worked with Cisco for 26 years and these awards are testimony to our ongoing commitment at global and country basis.”

Telstra won ANZ partner of the year award last year after Optus won it in 2015. Data#3 and NEC Australia also represented Australia on the podium during the 2016 awards.
