Telstra acquires Readify

Telstra has acquired award-winning Microsoft partner Readify.

Readify managing director Graeme Strange (pictured) said: "We’re excited by the opportunity for Readify to grow as part of Telstra. Readify has a proven record of creating innovative solutions with our customers and, with Telstra’s scale, the opportunities are tremendously exciting.”

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Headquartered in Melbourne, Readify is an application developer focused on enterprise cloud solutions, big data, internet of things, consulting and managed services.

The company has over 200 staff, including 160 software developers, in all major cities.

Telstra executive director of global enterprise and service Michelle Bendschneider said Readify would provide an additional platform to drive digital transformation for enterprise customers. She added that Ready would complement Kloud, the other Microsoft partner Telstra acquired in January for approximately $40 million.

“As we know, apps and software in general are playing an increasingly important role in businesses. Readify is recognised globally for its innovative software solutions and will further help us create software-led digital transformations with our customers,” said Bendschneider.

“Readify will provide application development and data analytics services, nicely complementing Kloud’s existing services. It will enable Telstra to add incremental value to customers in enterprise cloud applications, API-based customisation and extensions as well as business technology advisory services.”

Readify scooped four awards at the Microsoft Australian Partner Conference last year, including Excellence in Customer Lifecycle Management, Excellence in Industry and Platform Innovation, and the Technology for Social Impact awards.

Last week, Telstra bought the hosted collaboration solutions business from Inabox for $4.5 million, acquiring the Tasmanian government's Cisco HSC supply contract in the process.

Readify itself has been on the acquisition trail recently, acquiring data modelling, analytics and visualisation firm Huegin Consulting and 20 percent of user experience agency Folk. Two months ago, Readify revealed its $1 million IP Factory, a business unit that productises the intellectual property it has created from building solutions for clients over the past 10 years.
