This is the local reseller’s second foray into NZ. The company has recently closed a deal with Telecom NZ to resell fixed wire wholesale products and services.
The two deals combined will earn the company’s wholesale business up to $20m in revenue in the first 12 months of operation.
Damian Kay, managing director at Telcoinabox, said competition is strong in the reseller space so it was thrilled that the two large service providers chose to partner with the reseller.
“Due to our infrastructure and systems to resell their products, it proves we are punching well above our weight in this market,” said Kay.
“Our New Zealand customers have told us that up until now there has not been a wholesale provider with the systems and processes required to provide telecommunications services confidently in the market.
"They wanted a robust resale infrastructure model they could rely on.”
Telcoinabox is replicating its local wholesale-to-resale business model to business customers, including individuals, ISPs, utilities and other large organisations in NZ.
According to Kay, the fixed wire and mobile package includes ISDN, PSTN Free call0800/0500 and CDMA mobile services.
“Due to the spike in earnings growth within the wholesale division of the business over the past six months, the company has shifted from franchising - which the company’s success was built on - to wholesale,” he said.
“Telcoinabox has spent the last 12 months expanding and upgrading its internal infrastructure which has paid off for the company.”
Kay claimed the move into NZ follows a similar launch into the UK earlier this year. Based on the success of these two markets over a quick succession of time, the company will now consider entering into a number of other countries.
