DT Research is a Taiwan-based rugged tablet PC vendor.
As part of the agreement, the niche distributor has also launched two Ultra Mobile PCs (UMPC) the -8.4 inch LogiPad and 10.4 inch LogiPad.
Hugo Ortega, principle at Tegatech, said both products were semi-rugged UMPCs which contain features like hot-swappable battery; 2MP camera; Barcode scanner; Magnetic Stripe Reader and ultra bright outdoor display.
Ortega claimed the distributor had seen an increase in demand for rugged mobile PC solutions, which support the Windows XP platform.
“In the past we have not been able to meet the demands as outdoor viewing was poor and rugged devices were often too expensive,” he said.
“The arrival of the LogiPad will sit nicely with resellers targeting medial, military, police, mining, and many other mobile specific needs.”
According to Ortega, despite the economic times, Tegatech has experienced one of its biggest quarters to date (Jul 08 – Oct 08) and continues to add resellers and products to its database.
