Techplus is a distributor with a portfolio of proven network security, application performance management and WAN optimisation solutions, by vendors like Barricuda, Swann, St Bernard, Billion and others.
Paul Kern managing director at Techplus said the distributor has experienced strong sales in the New South Wales region for many years, but has had a lack of a local presence.
"This meant that we were unable to build the types of long term channel relationships that we have proudly formed in Victoria and Western Australia. This office is a sign of the investment we are making in the NSW market, and our willingness to emulate our channel success in NSW," he said.
The distributor will also be looking to recruit partners with specialisation and expertise to represent its product range in the region said Kern
"We are also keen to work with new partners with our range of bandwidth management, WAN acceleration and network security product suites and feel that Rob's enterprise channel background will help us broaden our appeal,” said Kern.
According to Kern, industry veteran Robert Harkness has been appointed to the role of business development manager - Northen Region and will be heading up the Sydney office.
"Rob's background includes senior management and channel development roles with the likes of Dovetail, Lan 1 and Avnet,” said Kern.
