ASX-listed TechnologyOne has acquired higher education software provider CourseLoop in Melbourne, as part of a strategy targeting universities across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The deal makes TechnologyOne OneEducation the first software as a service platform to integrate the entire student lifecycle into a single enterprise resource planning solution.
The platform now combines curriculum management with existing capabilities in student management, timetabling, human resources, payroll, asset management and finance.
"Having used TechnologyOne OneEducation for nearly 20 years, it is a critical part of university operations," Huw Davies, chief digital officer at Queensland University of Technology said.
"Combining its capabilities with the new curriculum management tool in a single source of truth will allow our institution to continue leading in delivering a world-class student experience through integrated data", Davies added.
The integrated platform will help universities create market-driven courses that appeal to students while remaining financially sustainable.
CourseLoop's founder and chief executive Brian Clark saw an opportunity to transform curriculum management in higher education.
"I founded CourseLoop to help universities address their strategic curriculum management challenges via a true end-to-end solution, connecting every element of a university's curriculum, from ideation to publication and everything in between", Clark said.
The acquisition comes as universities face mounting challenges including international students caps, decreased applications, legislation and compliance, and an increased focus on graduate outcomes, Edward Chung, chief executive of TechnologyOne said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
