Tech Data's Robbie Upcroft promoted as Andy Berry retires

Tech Data, a TD SYNNEX company, has promoted Robbie Upcroft to senior director and country GM for ANZ, effective 7 July 2025.

He assumes the responsibilities held by Andy Berry, who has decided to retire, effective 4 July 2025. 

The pair will work closely in the coming week to ensure a smooth transition.

Upcroft joined the company at the end of 2023 as cloud business unit leader for ANZ, having previously worked Microsoft as senior partner development manager.

Berry came to Tech Data in August of 2020, having previously served as MD of Ricoh Australia, managing principal of Trivium Solutions and principal consultant for 2ND ROAD at Accenture Australia.

He also worked at Fuji Xerox Australia for nine years in various roles, including chief customer officer; EGM - head of sales, marketing and professional services; and EGM - head of business process outsourcing and hosted services.

During his time there, he also served as board director, with stewardship of the operating company and it’s subsidiaries and all aspects of governance, as well as serving as chairman of the board of Upstream Pty, a $100m wholly owned subsidiary.

Kanappan said since joining Tech Data in 2023, Upcroft's strategic vision and leadership has brought the company's cloud business from strength-to-strength.

"With over two decades of industry experience, we are confident that Robbie will bring a positive impact to our ANZ operations,” he said.

“I would also like to express the organization’s gratitude to Andy for his outstanding contributions to Tech Data during his five years with us.

"We wish him all the best in his retirement.”
