Tablet PC maker signs Simms International

Mobile PC vendor Motion Computing has appointed Simms International, the New Zealand headquarters of the Simms Australia, as a distributor of its tablet PCs and accessories in New Zealand.

Under the agreement, Simms would distribute Motion's entire line of products including the rugged J3400 and F5 Tablet PCs and the C5 mobile clinical assistant in New Zealand.

The partnership also extends the partnership between Motion and Simms International in Australia.

Brett Gross, Motion's regional sales manager for Australia and New Zealand, said Motion will work with Simms to expand its regional business, primarily in the corporate, government and health sectors.

"The deal can cement the Motion brand in New Zealand by exporting existing Australian customer deployments to their New Zealand counterparts," he said.

Simms managing director Paul Johnston said he welcomed the opportunity to help Motion grow their customer base.

Simms entered the New Zealand market with a dedicated office in January.
