The Real Deal program runs until 31 March, 2009 and is open exclusively to resellers who are a part of the Symantec Partner Program (SPP).
It rewards individual resellers by giving them a $US credited reloadable Visa debit card.
According to David Dzienciol, senior director enterprise, sales and partners for Symantec, dollars are awarded for driving incremental and new licence sales for Symantec Backup Exec 12, Symantec Backup Exec Agents and Options, Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 8.0, Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 and Symantec Multi-tier Protection 11.0.
To participate in the promotion, channel partners have to register and opt-in to the Real Deal promotion online on the Symantec website.
“In particular now (given the economic crisis), partners are focused on increasing their revenue opportunities,” said Dzienciol.
“Symantec is focused on helping partners drive revenue and making a profit. This is their way to earn more cash.”
Dzienciol said over the past few months Symantec announced a number of programs that focus on the business and technology needs of Australian and New Zealand SMB customers.
He said it recently launched a new online portal, SMBOneToOne, which informs SMB customers about business issues and offers policy and technology best practices, hints and tips, real-world customer stories, ‘health-check’ analysis tools and industry and third party news and resources.
“The goal is to provide specific information about the SMB marketplace. Symantec focuses on consumers, small, medium and large enterprises. We wanted to provide a specific portal dedicated to SMBs,” said Dzienciol.
“It’s a market we continue to invest in and provide solutions to SMBs for their business problems around security, storage and management,” he added.
