Sydney's GME and Owl Cyber Defence partner for security solutions

Australian company GME and US-based Owl Cyber Defence have announced a partnership to distribute and support the latter company's cyber security products in the Asia Pacific region.

The collaboration aims to serve the defence, government and commercial sectors.

Under the agreement, GME will act as Owl's distributor and support services partner in Australia and the broader Asia Pacific market.

The partnership will also contribute to Owl's US-based manufacturing supply chain.

Owl Cyber Defence specialises in cross domain, data diode, and portable media solutions for network security.

Their products are certified by the US government and comply with 'Raise The Bar' standards.

Scott Orton, CEO of Owl Cyber Defence, stated that expanding their sales and servicing capabilities within Australia is important for their contribution to AUKUS nation network security.

GME is based in Sydney and has a background in radio communications and emergency beacons.

Recently, the company has expanded into defence-certified secure manufacturing.

Chris Rule, GME's general manager - defence security and resilience, said the partnership would deliver capabilities with local support to meet Defence's requirements for warfighter networks and applications.

The collaboration is expected to provide cyber security options to the Australian Defence Force, potentially benefiting from recent changes to export licensing requirements between the US, Australia, and the UK.

This partnership represents a step towards realising industrial objectives outlined in the second pillar of the AUKUS agreement between Australia, the UK, and the US.
