Sydney MSP CommsChoice activates VMware SD-WAN offering

Managed services provider CommsChoice has started offering SD-WAN services powered by VMware's VeloCloud.

The company is targeting customers looking to speed up their transition to the cloud, combining the offering with CommsChoice’s existing collaboration portfolio.

“CommsChoice aims to provide connectivity and collaboration using cloud solutions that will free customers from the burden of investing in hardware solutions,” CommsChoice chief executive Ben Gilbert said.

“By combining VMware SD-WAN by VeloCloud with CommsChoice’s collaboration portfolio, customers can easily transform their business using a next generation branch network that combines better security and performance with a simple, centralised and abstracted management layer.”

VMware joined the SD-WAN space in 2017 after acquiring VeloCloud for an undisclosed sum. Cisco that same year acquired SD-WAN startup Viptela for US$610 million.

CommsChoice said bringing the solution to Australia aligns with VMware’s own strategy to expand its SD-WAN footprint across Asia-Pacific and enable multinational businesses to build more secure over-the-top networks.
