Sydney-based hosting provider CloudRecover has signed an agreement with software company Asigra to provide backup solutions using Australian data centres.

The partnership sees CloudRecover provide a solution that allows the backup and recovery of virtual and physical machines, mobile devices and cloud platforms such as AWS and Office 365.

Canada-headquartered Asigra has 30 years' experience in data backup and recovery, and will offer a "single and comprehensive data protection solution" in partnership with CloudRecover.

Customers using the service will have access to a dashboard with a real-time view of the data protection status across all of their protected data sources.

The fully managed solution offers fast access to data, scalable backup, 256-bit encryption and data dispersed across multiple tier-III Australian data centres. CloudRecover works with up to three copies of data in different locations.

One of these data centres is Global Switch's, which is located in Sydney and offers 41,500 square metres with a 40MW utility power supply.

CloudRecover claims to have one of the largest private clouds in Australia, with more than nine petabytes under management, servicing small and medium business as well as enterprises.

In July 2016, CloudRecover was appointed HPE's specialist software value-added distributor. This move put CloudRecover and Dicker Data in the same selling tier, which then saw CloudRecover end its relationship with Dicker Data in October.
