Sydney-based software testing firm Integrated Research (IR) will spend up to $5 million acquiring IQ Services, the US vendor behind a testing suite for Microsoft Lync and Skype for Business, among other products.
The ASX-listed company will pay US$1.5 million for the business by 1 July this year, as well as earn-out payments over the next three years if IQ Services meets certain earn-out conditions. The earn-out payments are capped at US$3.5 million.
IQ Services markets a testing-as-a-service product for contact centres, including Avaya and Cisco environments, as well as Microsoft’s Lync and Skype for Business.
The deal gives the Australian provider, which has its own Prognosis UC testing product, the ability to offer SaaS testing capabilities to its customers, as well as to take the American company’s products into Europe and Asia.
The new products will mean IR will be able to add web real-time communication (WebRTC), software defined networks (SDN) and session initiation protocols (SIP) testing to its offerings.
IR was established in 1988 and, as well as having its headquarters in Sydney, has offices in the USA, UK, Germany and Singapore. IR lists more than 1,000 organisations that use its software in more than 60 countries.
