Sydney 300-staff mobile app developer Tigerspike acquired by Synnex-owned Concentrix

Sydney-headquartered app developer Tigerspike has been acquired by Concentrix, a wholly owned subsidiary of Synnex Corporation.

The deal, which remains subject to certain conditions, will add Tigerspike's 300 employees in Australia, Singapore, UAE, Japan, USA, Poland and the UK to Concentrix, which has 100,000 staff across the globe. The transaction is expected to close later this quarter.

Tigerspike is a digital application developer whose high-profile portfolio has included website and mobile development projects for Emirates, a payment processing app for the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, a fuel app for 7-Eleven and an HR staff onboarding solution for Westpac.

The developer has partnerships with Apple, Amazon Web Services, Telstra and Google.

Tigerspike builds digital products centred around its own real-time data visualisation tool, dubbed Intelligence Dashboard. This tool aggregates data from third-party systems such as SAP and Salesforce and surfaces this information to "empower leaders to make faster decisions to help improve the bottom line".

The company's Sydney-based chief executive, Alex Burke, will remain as leader of Tigerspike and join the Concentrix senior executive staff.

Concentrix is the business services subsidiary of Synnex Corp. Its suite of service include marketing solutions, automation and process improvement and consulting.

Synnex Corp, which, despite the name, is unrelated to major IT distributor Synnex Australia, has also recently dipped its toe into the local market as part of the acquisition of rival distie Westcon-Comstor.

That deal saw Synnex Corp acquire 100 percent of Westcon's business in North America and Latin America, as well as a 10 percent of the Asia-Pacific subsidiary, which includes Australia.
