Sybase has announced the Sybase Mobility Platform, a suite of enterprise mobility tools that it claims delivers the most expansive framework of best-in-class products to help companies transform the way they work.
Announced during Sybase's Analyst Day at the New York Stock Exchange, Sybase Mobility Platform consists mostly of existing Sybase mobile products, brought together into a single suite for the first time.
"The Sybase Mobility Platform is a direct result of delivering industry-leading enterprise mobility solutions for well over a decade and staying committed to our Unwired Enterprise vision," said Sybase senior vice president Gary Kovacs.
"Now enterprises can transform their business through enterprise-wide mobility solutions that better connect customers and better enable employees."
The mobile server side comprises the Sybase Unwired Platform for developing applications to link with back-end data sources, Afaria device management, iAnywhere Mobile Office and SQL Anywhere database tools.
Also included are a number of ready-built applications, including Sybase Mobile Sales for SAP CRM, Sybase Mobile Workflow for SAP Business Suite and Sybase mBanking 365.
SAP announced its intention to acquire Sybase earlier this month in order to beef up its enterprise appeal by adding capabilities to extend SAP to mobile devices.
On the services side, Sybase Mobility Platform includes the firm's mCommerce Services, Enterprise Services for mobile marketing and CRM, plus mobile operator services.
