Sun Microsystems announces 15% price hike

The company said the news came as a result of exchange rate fluctuations.

Sun's A/NZ partners will have 30 days price protection from the effective date of the price change, 24th February 2009.

"Due to exchange rate fluctuations, Sun Microsystems has been forced to announce a general price increase of up to 15 percent on all products for Australia," a spokesman for the company said.

"When the rates return to a more normal level, Sun will adjust its prices accordingly."
