VMtech has migrated the NSW division of St John's Ambulance to its private cloud, based on Cisco, NetApp, Commvault and Zerto technologies.
The paramedic service was looking to step away from running its own infrastructure, said Barney Lee, IT manager of NSW at St John's Ambulance.
"As a part of our strategic IT infrastructure review, we were looking at storage and network refresh and reducing the complexity of owning and running our own IT infrastructure, enhancing our disaster recovery capabilities and ensuring that our staff and volunteers have seamless and ‘always available’ access to our services."
VMtech offers "well-defined service level agreements", promising clients it would maximise IT infrastructure performance, reduce and mitigate IT risk - while ensuring data compliance and security.
The Sydney company's managed hosted services platform is built on NetApp storage, Cisco USC and networking, Zerto for disaster recovery, CommVault for backup, Palo Alto Networks for perimeter security, with the environment hosted in Equinix Sydney and Melbourne co-location facilities.
Last month, cycling and fishing manufacturer Shimano announced it had moved to VMtech's hosted platform.
