Sophos’ new channel director has signalled a doubling down on the company’s channel efforts, with a boosted channel team and a renewed focus on partner education.
“We now have an internal team of eight focusing on the channel, which is a significant increase in numbers,” said the new director, Karen Delaney.
She also indicated a renewal of senior management at the company, many of whom have channel backgrounds. “We’re a 100 per cent channel company,” she said.
The focus on education for the company’s approximately 600 Australian partners is intended to reinforce its complete security portfolio, from gateway to end-point. Delany said the company is still largely known for its end-point products, at the expense of the rest of its portfolio.
Education for partners will centre around 100 free available days of training in Sophos’ UTM (unified threat management) products. There’s also a two-day fast track course for partners who may have certification with other vendors, to bring those partners up to speed with the company’s portfolio.
“I’d expect the offer [of training] to be very well received by our partners,” she said.
“I think if there’s one message I have for our partners, and for prospective partners it is for them to take a look at our portfolio if they have not done so recently,” she added.
