Software firm Informatica names Aussie channel boss

US-headquartered software company Informatica has named Jacob Van Der Eyk as  partner developer manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Van Der Eyk has more than 30 years’ experience in the IT industry and will be responsible for managing the vendor's the channel in the region.

Van Der Eyk joins Informatica from Pitney Bowes where he was partner manager for software solutions. Prior to that, he was partner account manager for Australia and New Zealand at EMC for almost two years. From 2011 to 2013, he was the sales director at Nobel Consulting Group, an RXP Services company.

He also worked for CA Technologies between 2001 and 2008 as a solutions strategy adviser.

Van Der Eyk said Informatica would be launching a new partner program in Australia next year.

"It will drive business growth by aligning our big data, cloud and data management solutions with the domain expertise of our global and regional partners," said Van Der Eyk. "I look forward to driving a partner-first approach in 2017."  

Nick Smith, Informatica Australia managing director, said: "Jacob is an expert in establishing strategic alliances and partnerships aligned to client needs in the enterprise and commercial markets as well as public sector."

Informatica is a data management solutions provider with 7000 customers around the world.
