Under the agreement SMS will work with Google and Telstra Corporation to manage the deployment of Gmail in schools and TAFE colleges across New South Wales. The company will also provide on-going maintenance and support for all Gmail users, said SMS CEO Tom Stainos.
“Recent development in Web 2.0 technologies, collaboration and Software-as-a-Service solutions are bringing some exciting opportunities to the fore. The NSW DET Student Email Service Replacement is an example of that,” said Stainos.
As part of the agreement Telstra will be providing ‘Security in the Network’ through the use of network based firewalls, anti-spam, anti-virus, and intrusion protection, said group managing director for Telstra Enterprise and Government.
