Digital workflow technology developer ServiceNow has appointed Barry Dietrich as its new group VP for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
Sydney-based Dietrich brings more than 25 years’ IT enterprise and public sector experience, with a track record of providing customer centric solutions, building people-focused winning teams, and driving growth among new and existing customers.
Prior to joining ServiceNow, Dietrich held several Asia Pacific (APAC) and ANZ roles at Salesforce, most recently as head of the APAC Public Sector team where he led engagement with Australian state and federal customers.
Dietrich also led Oracle Australia’s public sector team for six years and early in his career worked on South Africa’s largest ever public-private partnership, which created the world’s first paperless and filmless hospital.
“The ServiceNow ANZ business has a wonderful array of customers who are leveraging technology to radically improve employee and customer experiences. I look forward to leading the team to deliver similar benefits to an even greater number of ANZ customers,” said Dietrich.
ServiceNow also announced the appointment of David Thodey to a strategic advisory role, where he will work with customers "to drive drive real, tangible value on the AI platform for business transformation," the company said.
Thodey is chancellor at the University of Sydney, chairman of Tyro and Xero, and has held previous roles as chairman of Basketball Australia and CSIRO, as well as non-executive board director of Ramsay Health Care.
He served as CEO and executive director at Telstra for almost six years until his retirement in April 2015, and previously held various senior executive positions including CEO of IBM in ANZ.
“This mandate no longer lives with the technologist, it’s a shared responsibility,” said Thodey.
“ServiceNow is helping companies transport systems and processes into the new world with one platform that brings automation and AI capabilities to the table and puts low code and no code capabilities into the hands of everyone in your business to reap productivity benefits.”
ServiceNow's president of APAC Detlef Krause welcomed Dietrich and Thodey to the ANZ business, which claims more than 60 percent of the ASX 100 and more than 100 government departments and agencies as customers.
“ServiceNow’s global expansion is booming, and bringing experienced leadership who excel at customer success and team building is the next step in our journey to accelerate business transformation in the Australia-New Zealand region,” said Krause.
“As I’ve gotten to know Barry and David, I’ve seen their commitment to customer results and value, along with their deep belief in ServiceNow’s purpose to make the world work better for everyone. ServiceNow is on the move, and Barry and David are integral to our journey in ANZ and beyond.”
