Servers Australia sells hosting accounts to Inticon

Nick Brown, co-owner of Inticon, has exclusively confirmed with CRN, it's now responsible for all future support, sales and billing enquiries regarding Servers Australia's shared hosting and reseller hosting services.

In an email to its customers - posted on Whirlpool - Jared Hirst, managing director of Servers Australia, said it has made the decision to break away from this market and focus solely on its wholesale platform.

"Over the last few years we have become primarily a wholesale services company and provide wholesale services to businesses in the telecommunications industry," wrote Hirst.

"Effective of [24 March] Servers Australia will be handing all shared hosting customers over to Inticon Pty Ltd.

"There will be minimal to no change needed as the servers and IPs will stay the same, meaning no downtime or changes during the transfer of our customers to Inticon."

Brown told CRN, it has always maintained a strong wholesale relationship with the Newcastle- based wholesaler.

"We've gotten to know them well," he said.

 "We caught wind of rumours it was moving out of the [hosting] market.

"Inticon moved in quickly and within three-four weeks all the contracts to hand over the hosting accounts were signed."

 Brown said the deal gave Inticon an opportunity to expand the hosting sector of the business.

"We've gone from 150 small corporate customers to having around 2000 on our books," he said 

"These customers range from SOHO/SMBs to resellers with fairly well known brand named customers."

He said the transition has been smooth for the customers and most of them have been very welcoming.

"There has been an influx support requests coming through," said Brown.

"Most of them have been cases of customers testing us out so to speak."

Brown said Servers Australia was only interested in focusing on its wholesale business, which has been confirmed by Hirst in his email.

"It was easier for Servers Australia to focus on one platform, rather than have too many fingers in the pie," said Brown.
