Schneider Electric launches modular data centre solutions for AI clusters

Schneider Electric has introduced new data centre infrastructure specifically designed for next-generation artificial intelligence cluster architectures, for extreme rack power densities projected to reach 1 megawatt and beyond.

The company's expanded EcoStruxure Data Centre Solutions portfolio includes a Prefabricated Modular EcoStruxure Pod Data Centre solution that consolidates infrastructure for liquid cooling, high-power busway and high-density NetShelter Racks.

EcoStruxure Rack Solutions incorporate detailed rack configurations designed to accelerate High Performance Computing and AI data centre deployments.

"The sheer power and density required for AI clusters create bottlenecks that demand a new approach to data centre architecture," Himamshu Prasad, senior vice president of EcoStruxure IT, Transactional & Edge and Energy Storage Centre of Excellence at Schneider Electric, said.

Customers require integrated infrastructure solutions that handle extreme thermal loads and dynamic power profiles whilst deploying rapidly and scaling predictably, Prasad added.

The Prefabricated Modular EcoStruxure Pod Data Centre offers engineered-to-order pod architecture enabling operators to deploy high-density racks supporting pods up to 1 MW and beyond.

The solution supports liquid cooling, power busway, complex cabling, hot aisle containment, InRow and rear door heat exchanger cooling architectures.

Pods ship pre-designed and pre-assembled with all components for rapid deployment to support high-density workloads.

EcoStruxure Rack Solutions adapt to Electronic Industries Alliance, Open Rack Version 3 and MGX design standards approved by leading IT chip and server manufacturers.

The NetShelter SX Advanced Enclosure features taller, deeper and stronger racks to support increased weight, cabling and infrastructure with reinforced shipload rating and shock packaging for secure transport of AI servers and liquid cooling systems.

NetShelter Rack Power Distribution Units have been updated to support high-current power needs of AI servers with compact vertical and horizontal models offering higher counts of dedicated circuits.

NetShelter Open Architecture provides an Open Compute Project-inspired rack architecture available as configure-to-order solution including open rack standards, power shelf and in-rack busbar.

Schneider Electric has also developed a new rack system supporting the MGX rack in NVIDIA's GB200 NVL72 platform, placing the company on NVIDIA's HGX and MGX Ecosystems for the first time.

"Schneider Electric's innovative solutions provide the reliable, scalable infrastructure our customers need to accelerate their AI initiatives," Vladimir Troy, vice president of data centre engineering, operations, enterprise software and cloud services at NVIDIA, said.
