Schneider Electric hires new data centre boss from Vertiv
Mark Deguara, Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric has appointed Mark Deguara general manager for its data centre solutions business.

The appointment comes five months after the departure of Andrew Kirker, who joined Canberra Data Centres in July 2019 as general manager for enterprise and data centre infrastructure strategy.

Deguara was hired from Vertiv, where he was ANZ director of data centre solutions from 2015 to September 2019.

As general manager, Deguara is responsible for Schneider’s data centre infrastructure business, including cloud and co-location services. He will focus on developing speed-to-market strategies and working with channel partners.

“We are delighted to have Mark join us in what is an exciting period for Schneider Electric. The data centre market is experiencing accelerated growth within Australia, across the Pacific region and Schneider Electric continues to support this fast moving segment,” Schneider Electric VP of IT business Joe Craparotta said.

Mark brings a wealth of technical and commercial knowledge and experience that will help clients achieve speed to market with future-focused, quality and safe solutions.”

Deguara has spent most of his career in Vertiv, joining the company in 2000 when it was still known as Emerson Network Power. He also worked at Electronic Environments and Australian electrical accessories brand Clipsal, now a Schneider Electric subsidiary.

“I feel like my career has come full circle in a way. I started out in sales engineering with Clipsal, a Schneider Electric subsidiary, over 25 years ago,” Deguara said.

“I'm looking forward to re-joining the fold and working with clients and engineering teams to bring cutting edge solutions to market.”
