HYDERABAD (Reuters) - The business service subsidiary of Satyam Computer Services Ltd., India's fourth-largest software exporter, said on Thursday it expects an 80 percent revenue jump in the year to March 2006.
Nipuna Services Ltd., which specialises in back-office work, plans to increase its staff by 1,000-1,500 by the end of the fiscal year, swelling its ranks from the current 1,000, officials of the New York-listed Satyam told a news conference.
"Nipuna will record a leap-frog growth of 80 percent over its previous year's performance of $10 million and achieve its guidance of $18 million," Hyderabad-based Nipuna's chief executive Venkatesh Roddam said.
Roddam said the new employees will be added to its centres in both Hyderabad and Bangalore, while the company looked for new investments in knowledge process outsourcing (KPO), a reference to high profit services that involve advanced analytical skills.
Satyam's shares closed 1.8 percent up at 551.55 rupees in Mumbai, where the main benchmark index was up 0.5 percent.
