SAP partners get up to 64GB of HANA in-memory database in free cloud offer

SAP is offering partners the choice of one additional service of up to 64GB of in-memory database in SAP HANA as part of its decision to give the channel free access to its cloud platform.

The incentive covers both current and new partners, which can be used for testing and developing applications.

Current partners get free 12-month renewals of subscriptions to the core SAP Cloud Platform via a self-service portal, while new partners - excluding members of the open ecosystem - can subscribe to one of the options of the core SAP Cloud Platform, SAP head of partners and channels for ANZ Mark Hettler told CRN.

"We see an incredible amount of innovation among our customers and our partners in Australia and New Zealand, and we are committed to supporting that innovation," Hettler said.

"It’s important for us to provide our partners with free access to SAP Cloud Platform to build a cloud ecosystem and continue to nurture innovation in this market."

SAP said partners “will have faster access to resources” available on the platform and that partners can then sell the solutions they have built on SAP’s App Centre.

The company has already informed existing partners of the offer and will promote it further through a number of events, direct relationships and regular communications within the vendor's partners.

“SAP is committed to bringing its partners to the cloud and, as a result, making it easier for customers to bring their business to the cloud as well,” SAP Cloud Platform global president Björn Goerke said.

“Now that over 3,700 SAP partners have joined our cloud strategy, the free resources will help them accelerate application development in a way that best fits their customer base.”
