Users will be able to access data in connected and disconnected modes from their mobile by utilising Sybase's technology.
Sybase will work with SAP to deliver enterprise applications to mobile devices to speed up rollout and reduce end-user training for sales representatives and service personnel.
Steve Dolan director of channel and alliances, Sybase A/NZ, said it wanted to go into partnership with SAP because the company has a strong customer base of approximately 40 million existing SAP licensees and a total of 120 million information workers in SAP customer accounts.
"SAP has a solid partner channel that will complement Sybase's existing channel and strategy of existing strategy for mobilising enterprise information," said Dolan.
"Together with SAP, we will be able to reach a broader customer and partner base."
Dolan said Sybase decided to make the move now because it is witnessing the proliferation of mobile devices transform the way users interact with information and applications on a global basis.
Sybase will enable sales professionals to access the SAP customer relationship management (CRM) solution.
