Samsung Electronics Australia has decided to cease supply of conventional notebook PCs to the Australian market.
The vendor will continue its support and warranty service for customers with existing notebooks including a tech support phone line, on-site warranty service and spare parts.
Norman Krieke, IT and CE Sales Director of Samsung Electronics, said: “The notebook market here is extremely competitive and though we have been happy with our successes in this area, we have made the internal decision to channel resources towards the UMPC.
"Samsung prides itself on being an innovator and the Q1 represents a point of difference in the notebook segment and a chance for Samsung to tap into some exciting opportunities," added Krieke.
