K.Y Choi, managing director at Samsung Electronics Australia said the team restructure will help speed up decision making with key customers, as well as give autonomy and accountability to national account managers and state managers.
"We recognise the significant contribution and commitment that Mark Beard has provided to Samsung Australia over the last decade and wish him all the best for the future," he said.
In recognition of his key leadership role, director of sales, Michael Richardson was promoted to director of retail sales and marketing.
He will spearhead a team that comprises of national account managers, state retail sales managers and supply chain management.
On the marketing side, Mark Leathan, head of marketing for CE will also report directly into Michael Richardson.
Emmauele Silanesu has been promoted to national product and IT marketing manager.
Formerly business unit manager for Notebooks, Silanesu's recent success at Samsung has been rewarded with a role for the marketing team.
Choi said Samsung Electronics Australia has achieved ongoing growth in sales and market share over the past two years.
"This is the right time to make proactive and positive changes that reflect where Samsung is as a business in Australia," he said.
