Samsung Australia launches two mini-notebooks

Philip Newton, director, Samsung Electronics, IT Division said the launch represents a big step forward for Samsung's IT offering.

"Answering consumer's needs, Samsung has tied together the convenience of a large screen and full-size keyboard with superior battery life to make the mini-notebooks the ultimate internet and lifestyle accessory," he said.

"We believe the style and size of these products will meet consumer expectations, as they have in other markets," he added.

Together with GfK Samsung Australia undertook local research to determine what consumers want from a notebook with longer battery life at the top of the list.

The NC20 mini-notebook offers a 12.1-inch LED wide screen and an extra screen resolution of 1280 x 800.

Samsung has adopted the VIA Nano processor for the NC20 to offer a longer battery life of up to seven hours.

The NC20 is available now at a recommended retail price of $999.

Samsung's N120 has enriched multimedia experiences. It has two speakers and a dedicated sub-woofer, it also features an integrated 1.3-megapixel digital motion camera.

It has a battery life that lasts up to 9.2 hours of continuous usage, or five hours of video playback.

The N120 is the only 10-inch mini-notebook in its category to boast a full-sized keyboard. It is available now at a recommended retail price of $899.
