Salesforce announces Australian cloud availability through Amazon Web Services Sydney

CRM vendor Salesforce will soon bring its customer service and sales cloud platforms to Australia, with local availability expected to open up to customers in the second half of this year.

As part of its continued expansion on the back of the Amazon Web Services cloud, Salesforce will deliver its Intelligent Customer Success Platform via AWS’s Sydney region. The services offered include Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, App Cloud, Community Cloud and Analytics Cloud.

The news came during an announcement by Salesforce chief financial officer Mark Hawkins at the Salesforce World Tour in Sydney, where organisations across Australia, including Transport NSW, Australia Post, ANZ Wealth, L’Oreal, Citi Bank, Kellogg’s and Vocus, are showcasing their use-cases for the CRM software.

The event has also provided a platform for the vendor to promote its Einstein AI, built into Salesforce platform and designed to increase workflow efficiencies for customers through machine learning, predictive analytics, natural language processing and smart data discovery.

Mark Innes, Salesforce Asia-Pacific general manager, said the APAC region had been the company’s fastest-growing region, and the move would support the growing Australian customer base.

“By leveraging the AWS Cloud, we will be able to deliver the secure, reliable and trusted services of our Intelligent Customer Success Platform locally,” he said.

AWS Australia and New Zealand managing director Paul Migliorini said Salesforce’s arrival in the Australian cloud would give customers security and reliability as they grew.

“Organisations use Salesforce to transform their businesses and we are excited that Salesforce has chosen AWS as their infrastructure partner in Australia as they continue to maintain their incredible momentum,” he said.
