SailPoint connector brings identity governance to Claude Enterprise

SailPoint has launched a connector for Anthropic’s Claude Compliance API, extending its identity governance platform to Claude Enterprise so organisations can control who - and which AI agents - can access the tool and how it is used.

The connector brings Claude Enterprise into the SailPoint Identity Security Cloud, letting organisations centrally manage Claude Enterprise users, groups and roles; discover and govern Claude AI agents as part of the company’s single registry of non-human identities; and apply risk-adaptive access controls that weigh the context of who is requesting access, to what, when and why.

The company framed the integration around the rise of shadow AI - AI tools being used across an enterprise in ways that are ungoverned and invisible to IT and security teams. As the definition of an identity expands beyond human users to machines, APIs, workloads and now AI agents, SailPoint argued, those non-human identities need the same governance as any critical application.

“While the industry discusses the future of AI security, SailPoint is delivering it today. As Anthropic makes its Compliance API available, SailPoint is building a meaningful, governance-focused integration,” said Chandra Gnanasambandam, executive vice-president of product and chief technology officer at SailPoint. 

“This gives our customers the ability to not just monitor, but truly govern their AI workforce from day one, treating AI platform access with the same rigor and contextual understanding as they would for a critical application or datastore.”

The connector is available now for customers of the SailPoint Identity Security Cloud.
