Rubrik launches Salesforce Data Protection to safeguard business ops

Data security vendor Rubrik has released its new Salesforce Data Protection solution, which is designed to help large organisations maintain business continuity and protect critical data within their Salesforce environments.

It aims to address the need for robust backup and recovery solutions for Salesforce Core Platform data, which serves as the primary source of truth for many downstream financial applications.

The new offering is powered by Rubrik Security Cloud, a unified platform that consolidates data protection across SaaS, cloud, and on-premises environments.

It complements Rubrik's existing data protection solutions for other Software-as-a-Service tools such as Microsoft 365 and AtlassianJira.

"Extending Rubrik's data protection capabilities, Salesforce Data Protection helps Salesforce admins, IT, and security leaders proactively establish a reliable backup and recovery strategy," Anneka Gupta, chief product officer at Rubrik, said:

"When they do find themselves in the wake of a data loss incident, operations can return to 'business as usual' quickly – all within a single platform designed to simplify management, reduce costs, and enhance security," Gupta said.

Gupta said the solution is built on a zero-trust architecture that lets Salesforce users take advantage of Rubrik's air-gapped, secure backups to protect against unauthorised access and ransomware attacks.

Key features of Rubrik's Salesforce Data Protection include rapid and precise recoveries with optimised recovery point objectives (RPOs), and recovery time objectives (RTOs), allowing quick identification of incidents and root causes.

The solution also provides superior data quality and integrity through granular recovery capabilities help maintain data integrity and prevent the restoration of corrupted data.

Rubrik said Salesforce Data Protection provides an intuitive user experience, with an award-winning interface that allows Salesforce administrators to easily configure and manage backups.
