Reseller joins Vic Govt to launch SharePoint Factory

Consulting firm e-Centric Innovations has teamed with Microsoft and the Victorian Government to launch a SharePoint Factory at La Trobe University.

The Factory offers a three-year university degree to students, and will involve a final year paid internship within the university.

The factory is forecast to create 150 jobs in Bendigo in the next three years.

Fifty five workers will be hired, both as tutors and general facility workers, within the SharePoint unit, and 98 students in their third year will be given a one-year paid internship of $28,000 to work in SharePoint at La Trobe.

The SharePoint Factory has already recruited five interns and six employees.

The Factory will develop web application software for business and government organisations, and is expected to start getting paid customers within the next five months, a spokesperson said.

The spokesperson declined to reveal the Victorian Government’s funding contribution to the course, citing commercial confidence.
