Redmap wins Qld IT export prize for third time

Electronic document management software vendor Redmap has won the Premier of Queensland’s ICT Export Award for the third consecutive year.

Ben Woolley, vice-president of sales and marketing at Redmap, said the developer was doing well taking its Australian technology to the world. The company is headquartered in Sydney but also had an office and support services in Brisbane.

"Changes such as Sarbanes-Oxley and CLERP 9 have increased pressure on organisations to ensure all information is stored and accessible," he said.

Demand for products such as email archiving software was growing rapidly, as organisations worked to meet new global legislative reporting standards, Woolley said.

The Premier of Queensland's ICT Export Award was given for "outstanding export achievement" in information and communications products, technology or services, he said.

Woolley said the company’s OEM partnership with Toshiba had helped it achieve more exports.

"The management at Toshiba Australia have shown vision and courage to back Redmap internationally. Was it not for the demand we are experiencing from the worldwide roll-out of our OEM technology we would not have received this award," he said.

Redmap over the last three years had acquired new international customers such as FedEx, Siemens, New York Telecom and T Systems, Woolley said.

Other overseas customers included Sony, Metro Systems and Assumption University in Thailand, Asia United Bank and Meralco in the Philippines, and Penang State Library and University Sains Malaysia in Malaysia, he said.

Redmap had offices in Indonesia, Australia, NZ, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, and the US, he said.
