Security vendor Qualys said its Cloud Platform has received PROTECTED-level status certification from the Australian government's Infosec Registered Assessors Program (IRAP), making for a milestone in the company's commitment to data security.
The certification required meeting more than 1200 security controls, positioning the platform as a trusted solution for government agencies and critical infrastructure organisations across Australia.
The IRAP assessment process evaulates platforms against stringent security requirements designed to protect sensitive government data.
IRAP is an initiative by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), the nation's main intelligence agency.
An IRAP certification enables Australian organisations to more easily comply with the Australian Cyber Security Centre's Essential Eight strategies and meet the government's Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
"Completing the PROTECTED IRAP assessment for our cloud platform is not just a technical milestone – it's a reflection of our ongoing investment in securing Australia's public and critical infrastructure sectors," Sam Salehi, managing director for Australia and New Zealand of Qualys said.
The achievement comes as Qualys expands its security offerings with the introduction of its Risk Operations Centre, which incorporates Enterprise TruRisk Management capabilities.
The new centre aims to transform how organisations handle cyber risk by combining various security solutions into a unified system for threat assessment and resolution.
