Altay Ayyuce has been named the new area vice president for Australia and New Zealand at data storage technology company Pure Storage, bringing nearly three decades of leadership experience to the role.

Ayyuce has worked at Pure Storage for five years and replaces Amy Rushall, who will return to the United States to take up a position as area vice president for strategy and development in the Americas region.

Prior to Pure Storage, Ayyuce held senior roles at Hitachi Vantara, Huawei and Nortel Networks.

In his previous role at Pure Storage, Ayyuce helped organisations overcome business challenges using the company's storage platform.

"Australia and New Zealand have always been one of our most important markets in the APJ region and we are delighted that Altay has accepted the challenge to lead our business here," Nathan Hall, general manager of Asia Pacific and Japan at Pure Storage said.

Pure Storage counts organisations such as AUCloud, Cumulus VFX, St George's Hospital, Toyota Financial Services, and the University of Western Australia as data management customers.
