Victorian Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault of a man at a Dandenong store on 18 April.
Police have been told that a man entered the JB Hi Fi store on the Princes Hwy, shortly after 1.00 pm.
A staff member, who believed the man may have been interfering with security tags, then approached the man.
On being confronted the man fled the store, slashing the male staff members face with a razor blade in the process.
The victim was taken to the hospital where he received seven stitches to his face.
The man police would like to speak to is described as being aged in his late teens or early 20s, caucasian, about 180cm tall, thin build and wearing a dark hooded top with a white motif on the front and a white peak cap.
Police are appealing for any persons who may have witnessed the incident or who may have seen a man running from the store around this time.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppers.com.au.
