Conrad Hilder, director of business development at PKBA, said the local IT service provider established a relationship with Phillip Morris off the back of its Invisage acquisition in 2008.
At the time Philip Morris was looking for a fit-for-purpose IT services, such as help desk and associated field services.
“It was looking to establish a relationship with an all encompassing provider –that includes a further ability to provide infrastructure and applications expertise in the future,” he said.
According to Hilder, the project is a multi-million dollar contract and is expected to run for two years, with options for an additional year.
He told CRN, PKBA will be supporting and implementing Intel based servers and desktop technologies, in addition to a wide variety of Microsoft and other big name technologies.
However, Hilder was unable to give any further details about which vendor’s products were being used for the project, by Phillip Morris.
