Customer intelligence and geolocation services vendor Pitney Bowes has revealed that it has been hit by a ransomware attack, disrupting customer access to its services.
In a statement released overnight and on a status page, the company said its mailing system products and customer access to”Your Account” have been hit by an outage, but other services are still working.
Pitney Bowes said it is still working to restore the systems and has sought the help of third-party consultants.
“Pitney Bowes was affected by a malware attack that encrypted information on some systems and disrupted customer access to our services,” the statement read.
“At this time, the company has seen no evidence that customer or employee data has been improperly accessed.”
Pitney Bowes specialises in postage meters and other mailing equipment and services and also offers e-commerce, software and other technologies.
