NSW-based computer manufacturer, Pioneer Computers Australia has bolstered its services capabilities with the launch of its DreamCare division.
Available through an online portal at www.dreamcare.com.au, dealers can lodge warranty requests and apply for repair services of the DreamBook series of Pioneer notebooks, and other brands such as HP, Toshiba and Acer.
The company has signed up with insurance companies and business partners to service out-of-warranty notebooks from Office Works, Harris Technology, Harvey Norman and the Good Guys. DreamCare is also recruiting service agents in regional areas.
Jeff Li, managing director of Pioneer Computers, told CRN the division covers all of Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific, where it has a dealer partner representing Pioneer.
“We found we were doing a lot of HP and Toshiba repairs and after checking with a number of vendors found this new service was the first in the market.”
Li said previously the firm’s technicians only serviced its own notebooks under warranty, and then it expanded and serviced its out-of-warranty items too. Since the system was in place and Pioneer had the resources, it decided it might as well accept service jobs for other brands of notebooks too, he said.
“Our technicians have plenty of hands-on experience in notebook problem diagnosis and repair. Turnaround time is minimised. For dealers from remote areas, Pioneer Computers offers the option of ‘Pickup and Return’,” added Li.
