A product showcase of the latest Compucon computers, Microsoft software and AOC LCD monitors was accompanied by drinks and informal conversation.
Guests then seated for brief presentations by Microsoft and AOC, followed by a multi-course feast, highlighted by fresh lobster.
“Although this has been a tough year for most of the channel, we’ve been in business for almost 20 years and have every intention of surviving along with our loyal resellers and project partners,” said Greg Schroeder, marketing communications manager at Compucon.
“This year’s banquet continues an annual tradition that’s become very popular with our top customers, and in fact the menu was more sumptuous than ever. It’s a fun and chatty occasion, but the silence that descended during the lobster course shows we really hit the mark there.”
Notable resellers included Department of Defence, Thales Australia (a major Defence contractor), Command Systems (digital media distribution and control systems), 3rdmill (winner of an Australian Achiever Customer Service Award for 2008), Megaview, Adnet Technology, The 3rd Eye (business surveillance systems) and Enerds (recently recognised as one of BRW's Fast 100 Businesses for 2008).
A special prize draw saw eight lucky customers winning products from Microsoft and AOC. Nobody went home empty-handed, with every customer receiving a personal Christmas gift pack from Compucon.
