Palo Alto Networks has named Bryan Stibbard as its new Australian and New Zealand channel chief, replacing Stephen Milthorpe who has been promoted to an APAC role based in Singapore.
Taking the role of director of channels and alliances for Australia and New Zealand, Stibbard has been promoted from his role as national sales manager for enterprise and federal, a job he’d held for three years.
Palo Alto confirmed the job changes, and noted that Stibbard is based in Melbourne, where he and his team are responsible for helping the networking vendor build successful partner relationships.
"I’m in a privileged position after running the federal and enterprise business. I’ve been able to speak to our clients about the vast number of security challenges in their organisations as they move from on-premises into the cloud. Now I can take that expertise to our channel partners as well as support them and their Palo Alto offerings through their transition plans," Stibbard told CRN.
"I think the role of every vendor is to make sure their partners are profitable and that they can leverage the expertise Palo Alto can bring them. I want to make sure our partners have access to the same knowledge base and services that we use from our own kit bag."
Prior to joining the networking vendor, Stibbard was the area vice president for Commvault in Australia and New Zealand, a role he held for five years. Before that he was sales director for the Pacific at US-based collaboration software vendor PGi.
The executive has a career spanning more than 20 years in IT and channel organisations.
Millthorpe meanwhile has taken on the role of Palo Alto’s director of sales strategy for Asia-Pacific. He is responsible for sales initiatives that support growth and increase efficiency, as well as working closely on go-to-market execution in the region.
